Not all LGBT representation is created equal

LGBT representation is so very important, but not all representation is created equal and right now we're seeing ourselves killed (often even murdered) in TV shows on an almost weekly basis.

That's why I'd like to - once again, yes, I know - celebrate the horror genre, where we might die as well, but we seem to have much better odds.

Right now Heather Langenkamp - one of the biggest horror icons ever since the 80's where she starred in 'A Nightmare on Elm Street' - is playing one half of a lesbian married couple in the indie horror movie 'Home'.

Just a sweet and loving married couple in a horror movie

Her wife is played by Samantha Mumba, who many will know as a singer (I sure did!) even though she's primarily been acting for the past many years.

I read a review over at my favorite horror website Heaven of Horror and it sounds like an almost picture perfect example of good LGBT representation. You can read the review here!

I've already seen it and it's a pretty good ghost story... plus, if you love horror, then it's always great to see Heather Langenkamp again.

The movie is out On Demand now, so if you're in the mood for some horror tonight and still want a bit of gay action - so to speak - then this is a pretty safe pick.

Have a beautiful weekend,

P.S. I got tired of calling every single Friday segment "Friday I'm In Love" in the title, so now you can just follow the tags instead. I'll still use "FIIL" or "Friday I'm In Love".

Wonder Woman is the BEST thing about Batman v Superman

And everybody is saying the same damn thing, so it's not just gay ol' me.

If you haven't already watched "Batman v Superman" then you've probably at least heard the hype that Wonder Woman is the best thing about this film... and it's true. Very true!

Now we'll all just have to wait until June 23, 2017 for the Wonder Woman movie, but it should be well worth the wait since the cast is nothing short of stellar.

The cast of the Wonder Woman (2017) movie

The bad-ass Amazonian women, who raised the warrior princess, are portrayed by the following amazing women: Connie Nielsen is her mother, Queen Hippolyta, and her two aunts who taught her how to fight are played by Robin Wright as General Antiope while Lisa Loven Kongsli is Antiope's lieutenant, Menalippe.

I am loving how Robin Wright's career as a fierce woman has evolved since House of Cards started, so let's just take another look at her character... I mean "WOW!"

Oh yeah, and Chris Pine is also starring as Wonder Woman's sidekick, Steve Trevor. But honestly, we're all too excited about these amazing warrior women to really care about him right now.

And Gal Gadot is already saying all the right things about how important this character is, because representation matters:

This Friday, I'm in love with the superhero women everywhere,

Friday I'm In Love

This time I'm in love with Kristen Stewart not giving a damn any longer as she strolls the streets of Paris with Soko!

Just being happy...

Like any other couple!

I've written about Kristen Stewart several times, because I hated the way her "team" (or maybe it was more like the "Twilight"-team) were handling her publicity. Constantly pushing rumors of any straight love connections. This included an affair with the director of "Snow White and The Huntsman" even though it was beautifully obvious that she had an intense chemistry with Charlize Theron - while immediately shutting down anything remotely not straight.

Who doesn't?

Again, who wouldn't?

Kristen Stewart herself - or KStew, if you will - never really addressed the rumors one way or the other. If anything, she refused to deny any gay rumors, and instead just stated that people would believe what they wanted to anyway.

And honestly, don't we all know that by not trying to confirm your heterosexuality, you're basically stating that you're not straight... meaning we're instead somewhere in the beautiful queer area with as many possibilities as there are colors in a rainbow (gay pun totally intended).

My wifey often says that I'm quick to label someone "gay" (which I always correct to "not straight"). And she's right, I am. However, I always comment to her that everyone else always assume people are straight until they've officially "come out". That's just the world we live in... I'm simply trying to even it all out a little.

Besides, come on... I do have a pretty good track record. Just check out my guesses for who would officially come out on Cinco de Mayo back in 2010? I was wrong on all accounts since it turned out to be Chely Wright, but most of them have since come out.

In any case, enjoy the love, freedom and bravery by following Kristen Stewart's example as she enjoys Paris her rumored new girlfriend Soko (Stephanie Sokolinski). For the record, the pair haven't confirmed any relationship, but they obviously enjoy each others company while relaxing in France.
