Friday I'm in Love

Welcome to this week's edition of Friday I'm in Love... with these ships!

But in order to keep myself in line, I've decided to focus on the three C's that are Calzona, Clexa and Cophine.

Calzona
Ah yes, it used to be amazing heartbreaks and sweet moment and coming together again for Callie Torres and Arizona Robbins, but these past years it's been pretty much down hill.

Ah yes, the good ol' days
Grey's Anatomy creator, Shonda Rhimes, used to say the were MFEO [Made For Each Other], but she pretty much seems to have forgotten all about that.

And really, where is Sofia? Their daughter, who mysteriously never needs either of her moms since they're both working, dating and/or over-coming yet another tragedy at the same time.

But when they were good, they were good.

Clexa
Fairly new ship from The 100 (not the one-hundred. just 'the hundred', which still really irks me!), where Clarke Griffin and Commander Lexa have become increasingly close.

Yup, that's pretty close

And so it became canon

But this is a ship that the creator, Jason Rothenberg, ships at least as much as the fans, and so far he's using the show's third season to make Clexa fanfiction come true.

Cophine
There's no doubt that the immediate online fanbase was a huge part of the Orphan Black success. And while the success on sites like Tumblr was absolutely due to Tatiana Maslany's amazing ability to portray 80% of the characters in the cast, it quickly became obvious that especially one of the characters she played (science geek, Cosima Niehaus) was getting a lot of attention because of her relationship with another character, (follow science geek puppy, Delphine Cormier) and together they became Cophine.

Now, as we prepare for the fourth season of Orphan Black there's been an almost alarming lack of publicity for the show - especially compared to last year, when Twitter and Tumblr were fed clips and images to build up a frenzy.

Personally, I'm convinced it's simply because they don't want to reveal too much of how Delphine will be part of the story. Season three ended on a cliffhanger, but I have hope for the puppy turned wolf.

I better see you two lovebirds soon!

So, who are you shipping? And what's your favorite ship?

You need some Cophine in your life!

I may have been inactive on this blog, but that certainly doesn't mean I haven't been paying attention to all the wonderful LGBT ships in various TV shows and movies - though let's be honest, these days it's ALL about the TV shows!

And again, while I haven't been very active here, I have been quite the little Tumblr Queen, which in turn has made sure that I never really miss any of the glorious lesbian ships - whether it's on TV, in webseries or via streaming services such as Netflix.

One of the first new wonders - which occured a few years back - was Orphan Black. A show which owes a lot to the world of shipping and fandom, and knows that Tumblr and Twitter was a huge part of the success. Something they always make sure to reward with shout-outs or great online teasers.

And yes, there was a very special reason that everyone started talking about Orphan Black... or rather, there were two very special reasons:

Meet the gorgeous puppy that is Delphine Cormier played by the equally wonderful Evelyne Brochu...

And of course, the woman who plays 50% of all the characters on the show; The awesome and awe-inspiring talent Tatiana Maslany, meeting the aforementioned Delphine, as the kick-ass character Cosima Niehaus...

Isn't it just obvious that these two are meant to be - and also meant to break both one another's and our hearts along the way? And the shipping name was also ready from around the time they met. They are of course Cophine.

Yes, that sound you hear is the collective sighs of love-hungry queer women everywhere - or maybe it's just yourself right now, but I promise you this; You are not alone!

Basically, I just wanted my first post in two years to be about something that I wholeheartedly love and recommend. So really, if you're not watching Orphan Black, then you're wrong! But it's okay, you still have time to binge watch before season 4 starts later this year.

You'll be getting to know Tatiana Maslany as the following five characters:

There are more characters played by Maslany, but these five are the core characters. And believe me, it will end up messing with your head that it's the one actress... but you'll love it.

And again, while you'll no doubt end up loving many of these characters, you mark my words: Cophine will have your heart from the beginning - and you'll love them even as they break your heart over and over.

How could you not?

So, are you watching Orphan Black? Or will you start now - and both hate and thank me for it later?

You're welcome!
