Trailer: "Kyss Mig"... I cannot wait!

I just stumbled across this trailer on YouTube (again, YouTube bumming really does bring so much good even if it's insanely time consuming).

It's a Swedish movie, which will open this summer (at least in Sweden according to the trailer), and it looks pretty mainstream. One of the major supporting actresses from the Stieg Larsson "Millenium"-trilogy movies also have a supporting - and seemingly AWESOME - role in this movie.

FYI: Fun little tidbit. The title is listed as "Kiss Myg", which is an error made by one person and repeated all over the glorious Internet.
The title is actually "Kyss Mig" which translates to "Kiss Me" whereas the word "myg" litterally means "mosquito" in Swedish. Yeah, I understand Swedish and speak a bit as well. I'm Scandinavian and most of us can understand all Scandinavian languages. Pretty cool and quite handy actually. :o)

Anyway, you MUST watch this trailer - it looks sort of like a new spin on the "Imagine You & Me" storyline, which means I can't help but love it:

Oh, and Robyn's song "With Every Heartbeat" is used in the trailer. One of my all time favorite songs (saw Robyn in concert this past winter, and she is simply amazing).

*UPDATE* The international title for the movie is "With Every Heartbeat", which makes the Robyn song a perfect match. Just as it was the case with another lesbian themed Swedish movie hit and Robyn-made theme song: "Show Me Love".

Hmm, think I might just have to visit Sweden for a day or two this summer - sometime after July 29th. Oh yes, I am so hooked. ;o)

Hope you enjoy!

Wrong in all the right ways

I am falling completely in love with P!NK's new single 'Raise your glass' and especially the video for this song. It really is an anthem for everyone who's different and proud of it. I've inserted the video here and just underneath is the chorus of the song - it's stuck in my brain these days, so I had to share:

P!nk - Raise Your Glass (Official Music Video)

So raise your glass if you are wrong
In all the right ways, all my underdogs
We will never be never be anything but loud
And nitty gritty dirty little freaks
Won’t you come on and come on and raise your glass
Just come on and come on and raise your glass

And then this past week Pink also announced that she's pregnant - which of course happened on The Ellen's show (you know the deal, she is "The Ellen" to me, but yes, it was the Ellen DeGeneres). Pink has been on the show many times and Ellen often plays Pink's songs. Generally, both Pink and Ellen speak very highly of each other and seem to have mutial admiration, so it was an obvious choice, but a great one none the less.

Anyway, it's great that Pink is pregnant and I'm sure she'll be a great mom, but - on a more selfish note - this means we won't get to see her on tour the next couple of years *very sad face*
But what is even more erking to me right now, is that fact that her new video suddenly made me realize that she would've been a PERFECT Lisbeth Salander for the US remake of 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo'. I mean, just look: piercings, mohawk, attitude...

I know Rooney Mara got the part and production has started, but Pink could've given the role the same fierce and believable attitude that Noomi Rapace gave it. I will keep my mind open about Rooney - especially since David Fincher is directing the remake - but Noomi was beyond amazing and will always be Lisbeth Salander to me.

For the record, I have seen Rapace in other roles, and she is always amazing. And according to rumors, she's in talks to star in the 'Alien' prequel, and there's no doubt she will have some equally brilliant roles in her future. And she can be just as cute and beautiful as she is fierce and talented.

Girl with the Tiger Tattoo

If only the Lisbeth Salander books [Millenium trilogy] - and more importantly the movie adaptation - had been in the works 10 years ago, it would have been SO obvious, who should play… no, who would become Lisbeth Salander for the adaptations. The Girl with the Tiger Tattoo...

We've already seen how she can go to that extremely dark place in “Gia” (a bit too dark for her own good probably). And we know she wouldn't have the slightest problem with kissing another woman (again). Let's take a short trip down memory lane, shall we?

Confession time: Angelina Jolie is one of my all time favorite actors. I started out with “Foxfire” and it was litterally love [or lust?] at first sight. After that I was going crazy waiting for “Gia”. This was back when no one knew who the hell she was. And I mean NO one. “Angelina who?” was the usual response, when I was letting people know that I couldn’t wait for this movie about the supermodel Gia. Well, no one except for the lesbian community that is, cause there were plenty of fanpages and discussions forums filled with lesbians going crazy over this woman – and this was way back in 1998, when the Internet was just a toddler. Ahh yes, forget the gay boys being first movers, the gay girls have been the true pioneers of the Internet when it comes to anything that isn’t porn or downloading music.

Anyway, after "Tomb Raider" everyone knew who she was, but already after "Gia" people started recognizing her name because this new girl started winning every major award she was nominated for.

Anyway, back on track... Despite the fact that only very young actresses are being mentioned as contenders for the title role in "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo", I still think Angelina Jolie could pull the role off today. I mean, Noomi Rapace is from 1979, so Kristen Stewart is more than 10 years younger while Jolie is just 4 years older than the original Lisbeth Salander. Unfortunately, I just really doubt Jolie would do it now, and people would have huge preconceived notions about how she’d do it… then again, it would be the perfect way to prove everyone wrong.

Dreaming on,

I’m not so sure now

I know I just recently declared that I believed Kristen Stewart would be perfect as Lisbeth Salander in the US remake of “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo”, but that was before I took a closer look at a few other options such as the top contender, Carey Mulligan, and I re-considered one of my initial favorites: Ellen Page.

The original Lisbeth Salander (Noomi Rapace)

I just saw “An Education” which was the movie (or rather, her role in the movie) that landed Carey Mulligan an Oscar nomination. And after having seen the movie, I must admit, it was much deserved. It is truly a wonderful movie, and she just shines! I don’t know if she’d be perfect for Lisbeth Salander, but seeing her portray a 16 year old (she’s 23 herself) with such conviction made me think she can definitely pull it off.

But then I saw a clip from “Hard Candy” where Ellen Page is ABSOLUTELY brilliant, and then I can’t help but think she is perfect for the Lisbeth Salander role. I mean, in many ways she really IS Lisbeth Salander in “Hard Candy” – well, apart from the whole Goth/Punk look with tattoos and piercings, of course.

The reason Kristen Stewart remains an obvious possibility actually has nothing to do with her acting, but more so the fact that she looks and acts like Lisbeth Salander when she’s just being Kristen Stewart in public. She’s awkward, shy and quiet, but you can see her mind is going a million miles a minute (maybe struggling to keep that closet door closed and simply not wanting to be in the public eye in the first place).

It just seems that she is already the character, so she’ll do an amazing job – plus, she’d get to kiss more females, if they stay true to the books and Swedish adaptations. ;o)

What do you think?
