To be fair...

I know, I'm all over this Nikki and Kristen thing these days. I can't help it... I've got this pretty finely tuned Bullsh*t detector, and this whole thing has just set it off. Not wondering about the nature of their relationship, but the obvious cover-up and "damage control" of removing Nikki Reed from all PR, and them not being seen together after months of being inseperable.

But in all fairness, I do remember what it was like to be in my early twenties. Having nothing to hold me back and just enjoy life (I still have that but just with some responsibilities to set a few boundaries to the madness, LOL).
Anyway, one of the reasons I remember this time of my life so fondly and vividly, is because it's when I met the love of my life.

We started out becoming the very best of friends, and our relationship was definitely very physically close as well - though not sexual. Oh, of course, it is quite sensual when you're always touching and staying practically attached at the hips and holding hands, but we insisted we were just friends.
We became friends knowing we were both gay (we met online and were both just looking for other gay friends actually), and so we opened up completely to each other immediately. There's nothing to hide or fake, when you're building a friendship, and not dating. LOL, everyone else thought it was obvious that we were actually falling in love and practicaly dating - no matter what we called it - and eventually, when we spent a night apart for the first time in weeks, we caved in.

During some late night texting, my new best friend (and favorite person in the Universe to be completely honest) suddenly asked if I thought we should be more than just friends. Without hesistation, I knew that I did. And after panicking over my cell phone suddenly refusing to send my reply - and creating some panic at the other end because no reply came - I finally managed to get a signal by hanging out the window with my cell phone.
Just a few days before, we had talked about how we really didn't have room to date anyone, cause we had each other. And any girlfriend would have to accept that we were best friends and physically close, cause we had no intention of not cuddling up next to one another in bed og stop holding hands. And what girlfriend would - or should - ever accept that. I certainly never would have myself. On the other hand, we didn't want to ruin our amazing friendship, so we knew we should be happy with "just" that. LOL, yeah, right, Sometimes you have to accept that you do have choices, and don't have to settle for less than what your heart desires. It probably would have ruined us if we hadn't realized what was happening.

Anyway, my point... when I see Nikki and Kristen (or Lindsay and Samantha back in the day, for that matter), then I see myself and Wifey. Being happy and carefree, not caring or minding that nobody else understands our relationship. But looking back, those people [our friends who knew us very well apperantly] who we claimed didn't understand what we had, were all probably just a lot quicker at seeing what was happening, while we were happy just living it.

And, looking back, I wouldn't have done a single thing differently... It was perfect! :o)

A comment I just left at another site and wanted to share

I find it amusing (and a bit disturbing) how everyone is so busy stating "they're just friends" and how apparently everybody's kissing their same-sex friends and it means absolutely nothing. It seems that same-sex friends can only be friends no matter what behaviour they exhibit. Opposite-sex friends though, they can never be "just" friends. I mean, you guys all KNOW that you would be screaming "they're SO in love" if this was Robert and Kristin or Nikki acting this way.
And I know from personal experience how this works. No one would ever think that my love of 8 years was the girl next to me. We're just "very close friends" in the eyes of the public majority. No matter how much we kiss and hold hands, the fact that we don't fit the "lesbian stereotype" makes it all very innocent, apparently. LOL, if they only knew. ;o)
And finally, you ALL know you were saying the same damn thing about Lindsay and Samantha. And we all know how that turned out. :o)
Oh, and for the record, I'm not saying that Kristen and Nikki are a couple. I'm just saying I think it's strange that everyone dismisses it no matter what their behaviour might indicate. Also, now Nikki has disappeared from the public eye and it seems like her and Kristen have been instructed to stay away from each other in public, since they haven't been seen together in weeks. And this after traveling around together and after one another for months. Hmm, the plot thickens... ;o)

UPDATE: LindSam on Loveline audio

Here's a working link to the LindSam audio - the one from AfterEllen couldn't handle all the traffic. ;o)

Listen to the FULL interview directly from Loveline's website here

Just find the September 21st audio link called "Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson call the show" - it's still the first link as this post is being made.

Happy to help,

LindSam confirms romance and Aiken is [officially] out

A lot has been said about Lindsay Lohan's way of dealing with the "rumours" of her being in a romantic relationship with Samantha Ronson. Now, I can understand and (at least in theory) respect the fact that as long as she hasn't confirmed anything, then it would technically be "outing her", when you report on their relationship.
However, she has done nothing to hide their relationship or her feelings, and has done everything short of saying "Yep, I'm gay". So why is it that when it's a same-sex relationship, then we simply have to have this verbal confirmation? I think it's just plain stupid, and LindSam have handled it all in a great way, which Sarah Warn of AfterEllen has written a great piece on here - oh yes, I do adore the entire concept and execution of the AfterEllen concept.
Anyway, all those in need of the verbal confirmation now have it! :o) Lindsay Lohan has now openly talked about their relationship live on the radio via phone in by stating that they've been together for "A very long time", when asked directly about their relationship (don't take my word for it, you can hear it here).
Again, I'll just point you in the direction of AfterEllen for the full story.
Lindsay truly makes me feel proud for her and the way she handled everything with the press throughout the rumours and constant speculation about her very public feelings. You rock! :o)

All smiles,

P.S. I don't mean to diminish Clay Aiken's "Yes, I'm gay" statement on the cover of People Magazine, but it was hardly a surprise, and while Lindsay hasn't been hiding, then he really has been very coy about the "gay issue". I will however give him due respect, for coming out with his son in his arms, and attracting focus to gay parents. AfterElton (yes, I love that site too, and I LOVE gay guys, so I'll be sure to touch back on that topic soon) has the full story.

How about LindSam?

Okay, let's get to it... I can hardly keep avoiding it, and why should I? As a GayGirl I have been keeping an eye on the Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson stories, and something has been puzzling me lately; We have LiLo and SamRon, but they still haven't really gotten a combined name like Brangelina or TomKat, sooo...
How about LindSam?

I like it... I'm using it!

Also, regarding the question of "Are they even together?" Well, if they were two people of the opposite sex, then people wouldn't need the confirmation of anyone having to come out or describe the nature of their relationship. And really, isn't it a positive thing, that Lindsay treats this like any other realtionship? I mean, she wouldn't give a press conference or send out a public statement confirming that she was dating some guy or got a new friend (of any sex) either.

And in ANY case, whether they're together or not (which, for the record, I absolutely think they are), they do seem very happy and everything has just gotten better for both Lindsay Lohan's career and her overall behaviour, so I can't see that the relationship is bad in any way. I have high hopes for the future of LindSam and hope they stay on track in every way. :o)

Feelin' the love,
- GayGirl

P.S. If they are a couple that doesn't even mean Lindsay views herself as a lesbian, and therefore asking her to "come out" is a bit much. Maybe they just fell in love and are happy together, and they certainly aren't hiding how happy they are. Can't we just appreciate that? I can. And I do.
